How time flies！It’s been a year since I wrote the last review on 31, December.
Now I’m sitting in my bed writing 2022 year review in Shanghai. Yes, I got a new job in a completely strange city. Speaking of moving to a new city, this is not part of my plan. I was fleeing Guangzhou(GZ), to be frank, fleeing from the job I didn’t like, fleeing from that “me” nearly depressed. I left in such a hurry that I didn’t have time to say goodbye to my friends. The day after I left GZ, the whole city was nearly shut down because of COVID-19.
Someone says that running away is shameful, but it works! Yes, it works for me this time. I didn’t lose confidence in work. I didn’t want to sit back for the rest of my life. I just felt like I needed to get out of that situation where I was not happy.
I spent two months living with my mom after I quit my job. This is the first time I realize that I know nothing about her. I don’t know how to get along with her. I don’t know what to say when I’m with her. I don’t know what she likes and dislikes. We’re the most familiar strangers, which upsets me a lot. Fortunately, as time goes by, I get to know things by watching. I know what she suffers from. I know how much she loves me. Even though this is not all. It takes time. Just be patient. Now my brother and I work in the same city which is two-hour drive from my mom’s. I think this brings her some comfort in a way.
I had a relationship with one of my best friends about three months ago, but I’m not sure if this relationship has a future.
Looking back at 2022, there are three things I would like to continue doing in 2023, reading, writing, and working out. As for writing, I should be more aggressive, which means I can make money out of it. When it comes to work, it’s time for me to be patient and to accumulate knowledge in this industry. In year 2023, I hope I will be more open, open to new things, open to opportunities, open to people. ☀️
